Foredragene introduseres av professor i religionshistorie Kari Vogt.

Tariq Ramadan (b. 1962), born in Switzerland by Egyptian parents, former professor in Islamic studies at Notre Dame University. He has also been affiliated to the University of Oxford and Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan. Ramadan is an ex-member of The Holy Brotherhood of Islam, but is presently one of the leading spokesmen for a moderate and modern Islam in Europe. He is the leader of the think tank European Muslim Network.

Ziba Mir-Hosseini (b. 1952) is an Iranian anthropologist and public debater living in London, where she works at The School of Oriental and African Studies. She has also been a guest lecturer at several other universities. Her subject areas are sex, family relations, Islam, legislative and developmental issues. Mir-Hosseini is also a documentary filmmaker and author of books on Islam, Iran and feminist research.
