The Tropical Forest Arena (TFA) is a platform for information exchange and debates in Norway on issues related to tropical forests, involving academia, NGOs, companies, and public policy makers. We arrange quarterly seminars on different topics. This seminar will focus on deforestation-free supply chains, an important measure to limit deforestation, and thus CO2 emissions and biodiversity loss.
The seminar will start with an overview by a leading scientist (Toby Gardner) on supply chains, commodities and their impact on tropical forests, transparency, and traceability. Then we will hear more on:
- EU Deforestation Regulation and how such regulations can drive change (Fern)
- Deforestation-free supply chains in China and demand for deforestation-risk commodities (WWF)
- Norwegian fish farming and deforestation-free supply of soy (Grieg Seafood)
- How to eliminate deforestation from investment portfolios (Storebrand)
